Course or workshop description
A mixed, adult coaching workshop at Kendal Wall, Cumbria. Do you look up at climbers that move so fluidly and effortlessly up steep climbs, and wonder how they do it?! Do you want to learn how to twist and turn your way up the wall? Making steep climbs feel easier and more efficient is actually quite complex, even though people can make it look effortless. This workshop will really break things down and help you learn how to keep your arms straighter on steep stuff, how to twist and turn your way up the wall, and how to use your lower body more to climb. This climbing style feels good, looks good, and makes a lot of moves easier! Timings: 10am - 3pm Cost: £50 per session (wall entry not included) Group size: 6 max You will need: rock shoes, harness, belay device Prior experience: - this session will be suitable for indoor or outdoor climbers - we will primarily climb on routes, but the skills taught are totally relatable for boulders too - you will need to be fully registered with Kendal Wall, able to belay and tie in competently - there will be options to practise the skills on lead or top ropes.....it doesn't matter which you usually climb - you will need to climb in the 5s or 6s on routes to get the most out of this workshop Who is this workshop for? - anyone who is unfamiliar or struggles with steep climbing - you might have climbed for 15+ years but never learnt how to twist and turn on the wall - you might have just begun to climb in the last year or so, and keen to build your skills
