Kendal Wall Workshop - Lead Falling!

A mixed, adult coaching workshop at Kendal Wall, Cumbria, looking at technique, anxiety, and building confidence. Timings: 10am - 3.30pm Cost: £55 per session (wall entry not included) Group size: 6 max You will need: rock shoes, harness, belay device Prior experience: This session will be suitable for indoor or outdoor climbers, whether you have been climbing for 1 year or 20+ years! Any climbing level is welcome, but you MUST be able to competently lead climb and lead belay, and register as an independent climber at Kendal Wall. If falling on lead is something you never do, feel anxious about, holds you back in your climbing, or is something you would like to practise, then this workshop is for you. We'll look at the best ways to practise falling on lead, and understand how to manage fear while climbing. Forget the old school "just take a whipper from the top of the wall and you'll be cured" method....... we'll reinforce being relaxed, practise in a way that makes you feel more confident rather than more gripped, and help feel more free and happier in your climbing. We'll also look at how to give soft and safe catches, and get you super savvy at belaying different weights and looking after climbing partners. PLEASE NOTE: if you have had a traumatic fall experience in the past, or are going through a lot of stress currently in your life, this one day workshop might not be right for you just now. This is because it takes quite a bit of mental energy on the day to take falls, and it might be that delving a bit deeper in to your anxieties with a psychologist first, is more beneficial.
